Network Marketing – 3 Things you must have!

There are 3 areas of an individual’s personality that must be present if they are going to be successful in Network Marketing, MLM’s or Direct Marketing.

  1. Independence
  2. Responsibility
  3. Service

Independence is the first area. Successful Network marketers are people who think for themselves. They do not need to be told exactly what to do. Yes they are part of a group of people and they may have specific roles they play but they find solutions to their challenges.

Successful individuals in this business model determine what their strengths are and use them to make connections with others who help them create new strengths that solve the challenges they face. This is what is meant by independence.

Successful MLM / Network Marketing Professionals act on what happens, looking in-ward. They are looking to see what resources they have in order to maintain control of their lives. They direct events to a desirable result. They are responsible for what happens to them.

Responsibility is the second area of Successful Network Marketing.

Responsibility drives success.

Everything that happens in your life is the effect of some cause that occurred prior to the present challenge you are facing.
Earl Nightingale in his Lead the Field series said, “it’s not that successful people don’t have problems, they know how to solve problems.”
We all have problems, it is part of life. Successful Network marketers accept their responsibility to face problems and see them as challenges to advance themselves to their next level of success and understanding.

Service is the most powerful area of the Network Marketing / MLM Professional. This is a state of mind, a willingness to give to others. Many times the Network Marketer will have the first two areas but do not understand what service is.

Service is the desire to see others grow. It is offering guidance and sharing insights to the road less traveled. Service is the outward action seen by others that tells them that you are real, that you are there for the team and you understand that the parts are greater than the whole.

Service ties it all together, it creates a synergy that draws others to it.

 
Is MLM or Network Marketing Dead?

What is a MLM or Network Marketing.  To many this may seem like a silly question, however many of the younger entribrenuers are just coming into this business model and are not sure what a MLM or Networking business is.

Network Marketing is any thing but new. This style of business started in the 1940's and has grown dramaticly. One of if not the first Network marketing company was the American way. I am not saying it is or was the best or that it is not good. I am going to say that the founders of that company did thousands, even hundreds of thousands of people who wanted their own business a huge favor.

Why or how you may ask?

Because they fought the battles in courts and paved the road that allows stay at home moms and stay at home dads to not only realize their dreams of better life styles but to also reach a point in their lives that they had more time for family, recreation and relaxation. These early companies enable individuals such as your self to give to charities and causes they felt helped others in situations that other wise had no hope.

MLM or Network Marketing are names for the same type of business model. Both of the titles are correct. Each of the titles discribe a different aspect of the business model. MLM (Multi-Level-Marketing) discribes the structure of the business and Network Marketing discribes the way the business grows.

MLM is the structure of how an individual earns an income and can create an on going residual income. This multi level structure of business rewards those who are willing and determined to break away from the traditional 40 hr. week job and shares the opportunity to others who may be interested in the product or service or wants to be part of the opportunity

As the individual shares his belief in the value of the product or service to others and these products are purchased he or she recieves commissions as a distributor. This can be a very profitable business and the profits are based upon the compensation plan provided by the company and the continued efforts of the individual. The true multiplier in the MLM business are those individuals who share the belief of the individual who introduce them to the product or service and also wants the benefits possible by that company.

When this prospect (all individuals who may be interested in the product or service are prospects) joins the company that offers the product or service as an associate is then trained and coached on how to go about getting their own customers and associates. At this point the orginal associate that introduced the new associate gets a bonus for expanding his efforts beyound him or her self. This bonus is continualy paid by the company as long as the new associate continues to generate sales.

This is the first level of the marketing. Depending on the type of compensation plan given by the company
producing the product or service depends on how many levels the orginal associated gets paid on. This explains the money side of Network Marketing.

The Network Marketing part of this business model is how the product or service is shared to those who buy and use the product or service. There are many ways this is done.
  • Making a list of names of all those people you know such as friends, family, work associates, chruch members, club members, etc.... You get the idea.
  • Speaking to strangers where ever you are. This could be at sports games, shopping store, gas station, parking lot and the list goes on. This is generaly called the three foot rule.
  • Handing out CD or DVD to people
  • Giving away free samples
  • Doing house meetings
  • 3 way telephone calls
And the list of options for sharing the opportunity and introducing people to the product or service is ever growing.

Network Marketing or MLM is a business model that works. It is now a Multi Billion Dollar Industry that offers hundreds of thousands of individuals every day a very good income.

Is Network Marketing right for you? That is a good question.
Only you can decide that. But it is easier and has more tools for success today than it has ever had in its 60+ years of exsistance.

MLM or Network Marketing is far from dead. In fact it is booming and has no end.
